How do I ...
list CAP-CHL news and events announcements?
- Shut down computers
- Gather personal belongings (assume you might not be able to get back into the bldg for some days)
- Evacuate (when instructed) by the nearest exits (DON'T USE THE LIFT)
- Assemble on the grounds
- Wait until instructed that it is safe to re-enter the building
- Make sure that your mailing details are correct:
Keep your ANU directory listing up to date. This is the directory the staff at the Mail Room use to look up recipients when mail is sent to the ANU without a building number or College/School. If you need to change your entry, follow the instructions
- Make sure to use the proper return address:
When sending people your work address or ordering items online make sure you include Baldessin Precinct Building #110 or Coombs Building #9 as appropriate so the package or pickup slip comes to us.
- Make sure to use the proper recipient address:
The Academic Services office (W409 Baldessin) or Matt Read (T. x53672, Coombs CHL administration area on level 3) can assist you with sending mail via DHL courier. The student office can send mail for you via DHL courier but please note that it is mandatory that a contact name and phone number for the recipient is provided. A package cannot be sent without a phone number. NOTE: an email address or fax number is NOT an adequate substitute.
- Conference attendance, including registration fees, accommodation and travel costs
- Local organization costs for workshops and conferences at ANU
- Teaching and marking assistance to release academic staff for research activity
- Research assistance
- Costs related to well-defined research projects likely to deliver prompt outcomes
- Editorial assistance, including copy-editing, indexing and preparation of camera-ready copy
- Purchase of specialist equipment

Tony James of CAP services and his crew will know whether the equipment is maintained by DOI or another body, and will report the fault to the right people.
The reverse proxy login gives ANU students, staff and affiliates off-campus access to many online ANU services, websites, and electronic journals and databases subscribed to by the ANU Library.

The CAP Maps Online archive offers access to one of the finest Asia Pacific map collections in the world. The Collection of over 25,000 maps includes topographic, cadastral, bathymetric, aeronautical, geological and tourist maps, plus a range of atlases, gazetteers and historical wall maps.
CAP has endorsed general guidelines for best practice in fieldwork and off-campus work. All staff and students from the College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) participating in fieldwork and off-campus work for the first time as ANU staff and students must attend the half day Work Health and Safety workshop on Safety in the Field before the relevant delegate will approve their travel on fieldwork and off-campus work.
